Principal-Dr. Melinda Brown

I am excited for a fun-filled year as the new principal at Potomac Elementary School. After a very challenging year, I look forward to seeing our students thrive as they engage in educational activities that promote critical thinking skills. As your principal, I bring 13 years of school leadership experience and a total of 20 years in education overall. I earned my Bachelor's degree from James Madison University, a Master's degree from Regent University, an Education Specialist degree from Regent University, and a doctorate degree from Northcentral University. As you can see, I have a love for learning! When I'm not working I enjoy spending time with my husband of 21 years, our two adult daughters, and our two dogs.

I look forward to partnering with parents, staff, and community members to provide a school climate that supports educational growth as well as the socioemotional needs of PES students. Our theme for the 2021-2022 school year is "Adventure Awaits". Please join us as we embark on a thrilling journey through new challenges and achievements. We'll face hurdles and overcome obstacles along the way, but most importantly, we'll do it together!
